Hi everyone!
Carrying another good news here:
Indonesian Society has been successfully RATIFIED! Horeeeeee!
It’s a shame we are not assigned a stall for the Fresher’s Fair this Sunday but don’t worry because there are many ways to get us known and recruit members.
If you wish to be a paid member, it’s £2, only to cover refreshments/food in our events. The sign up form will be available from our social this Sunday.
Please let your friends know so they can join the fun! Yay!

Happy Patty

Updates
Dear all,
Hope that everyone enjoyed their holiday and settled back into uni fun perfectly well :D
I just sent an email to ISA registering for Indonesian stall at Fiesta! Hopefully we can get it :)
What we need to do now is find a date when we can try out our menu and a kitchen for the D-day
Yesterday we were invited to meet up with Rhianna K, the YUSU student activities officer, and she has invited us to perform in Woodstock in Summer Term
It is a music festival on campus (Vanbrugh Paradise) organised by RAG i.e. for charity. It’s a massive massive event, and this year, she said, it’s gonna be bigger than ever. So it’s a real privilege.
So now we have an option of performing our chosen performance: Saman from Aceh either for Woodstock or Cultural Performance (22 Feb)
If anyone wants to learn the Plate Dance (Tari Piring) from Minangkabau, that can be integrated as well; but of course, more fun practice!
Please give us your feedback before 30 Jan noon so that I can register immediately and arrange our practice schedule and book the rooms
Here is the IndoSoc logo submitted (unfortunately there is only one option). So your choice would be either to use it or not. Just reply to this message to let us know.
Our next social is Week 3 Sunday 31st January. We’ll be celebrating Patricia and Hensi’s (very belated) birthdays and Farewell for Bu Hesti. Time and Venue will be confirmed soon.
That’s all for now! Hope to see you all next week!

Logo and Meeting
Dear All,
just a reminder that the deadline to submit a logo for IndoSoc is in a week, that is 8 January 2010. Please send this to ps545@york.ac.uk with your name for acknowledgement ;)
All works submitted will be voted on in the next meeting/social (details will come shortly)
We are also waiting for ratification for IndoSoc this new term so hold on tight for some updates
but if we dont get ratified, don't be discouraged because we can still organise events for ourselves and our friends
It will still go on
soooo
next meeting's agenda:
- vote for indosoc logo
- plan for events for spring term, including joint events ( so please bring some fresh ideas what you want to do )
- plan to increase membership
- discuss saman performance
- (celebrate birthdays!)
date, time and venue will be published next week.
keep 'em logos comin'!
ciao ;)
