Fiesta Recipe

Hi! Since plenty of people were asking me for recipe of the food in Fiesta (and not all are in the Fiesta cook book) so I decided to just put the official recipe here
note that we kinda sorta improvised in the kitchen so it's not going to be exactly the same :p

here it goes!

Main Dish

Bakso (meat balls) – hot soup

Ingredients: mince chicken, mince garlic, tapioca flour, egg white, salt and pepper;
Soup: chicken stock, mince garlic, mince onion, mince ginger, salt, pepper, spring onion, celery, vegetable oil; egg noodle;
Serving complement (optional): fried onion, sweet soy sauce, bird chilli sauce
How to Prepare: mix all meat ball ingredients together and make balls out of them. Boil water and put all soup ingredients together with the meat balls. After cooked, serve the complements.

Soto – hot soup

Ingredients: chicken stock, mince garlic, mince onion, mince ginger, turmeric, coriander, lemon grass, vegetable oil, galangal, bay leaves, coconut milk, salt and pepper.
Whole chicken (boiled with crushed garlic), then deep fried.
Serving compliment: boiled egg (halved), rice vermicelli (optional), rice cube, bean sprout, sweet soy sauce, bird chilli sauce (optional)
How to Prepare: boil water and put all soto ingredients in. Separately boil whole chicken, then deep fry. Mince the chicken after cooked. Prepare the serving compliments. Serve all; usually separately.

Cook glutinous rice and then steam it.
Stir fry coconut milk, chicken, bay leaf, orange leaf until coconut milk evaporates. Leave on side.
Boil coconut milk with bay leaf and lemongrass. Put glutinous rice in. wait until all coconut milk is absorbed by the rice.

Saman

Dear everyone!
Good news for all of us, Indonesian Society will be performing still in International week.
It was a sad case that some of our dancers were not allowed to perform in Cultural Performance because they do not allow under 18s in bar events
Therefore we have pushed for our child dancers to have a spot in
The ISA Pageant 2010
Thursday week 7 25 February 2010 from 8.30-finish (about 11.30) in Wentworth, Edge
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=321337157640
which is a non-alcoholic event, as well as for charity
The event raises fund for RAG, and it's free entry for everyone!!!
Therefore everyone should come because it'd be really fun!

Since we are performing in a week
we'reholding practice at Sri's House
week 6
Today! (Thursday 18) at 7-9
Friday 19 7-9
week 7
Monday 8-10
Tueseday 8-10
Wednesday 8-10

I have booked for the D-Day
W/307 from 7.30pm until end of show
you can practice and prepare for the rehearsal

in the last practice we have learnt all the moves
in the next practices we're going to learn to sing together and do the moves quickly
next week we'll be drilling the run through

Updates

Hi everyone!

Thank you for those who came to the Indonesian Film Screening! I'm glad everyone is impressed! [Naturally!]

Just a little update on our activities~

We will continue our Saman practice this week on Saturday and Sunday 5pm at Sri's house
Unfortunately, we won't be performing in ISA Cultural Performance anymore because they do not allow our under 18 performers to enter the event
Nevertheless, we hope we will able to perform next term in Woodstock, as we have been invited by YUSU; and hey, it's for the good cause of charity!
So hopefully it will work out :)

As International Week is approaching~
We will be having a stall in ISA Fiesta, so watch out for the tickets because it will sell out fast~
For those who are cooking, could you please send us a list of what kitchen utensils that you need that you don't have already by Monday 15th
Shopping list will be sent out soon

That's all for now! See you~~

xoxo
